I think the fact that Skepta knows Wiley’s album is better, as does everyone else, made him do this, but it means BBK are gonna lose one of their most important members and we could well see a lot of MCs side with Wiley over Skepta here.
Lyrically Frisco is the best MC in Boy Better Know, his new mixtape Back 2 Da Lab Vol.3 is out this week, still haven’t got myself a copy was a little preoccupied with Eminem’s, but this will get an eventual coppage.
Nothing spectacular here, Skepta’s “Joker Face” is a bit scary though, only because if you saw a guy of his stature coming towards you in an aggressive manner, with that sort of facial design you would assume there is something very wrong in his head.
“We need some more girls in here” is probably the realest lyric I’ve heard in Grime up to this day.
Also Frisco is underrated, and lyrically he’s probably the best MC in BBK.
Had this song on the little side bar a while back, its finally gettin a mainstream release in May, video looks interesting, seems like Mo the director got the idea of face paints from that T-Pain video, but really no idea is original.
Obviously there’s hardly any girls in there oh and this video makes me hate Tempa T a lot more too.
Nice special effects, coupled with some intricate and clever lyrics “Roses are red, violets are blue, you know I got my eyes on you”.
Ha ha yeah right, here is Skepta with another attempt at some Grim-Pop aka Electro-grime and while this has been on the radio for a while finally the video has dropped and could get him some major exposure.
Skepta has the talent and street following to remain in both entities of UK music, the urban and pop such as Wiley has done. Ghetto could well be on his way in similar fashion but has had to sacrifice his name, changing it from Ghetto to Ghetts.
The thing with this electro-grime is, in order to keep it simple and fun for the radio/clubs they don’t actually say much in their lyrics, but, if they can draw a wide range of listeners in with lets say 2-3 singles and the rest of their albums are grimey as hell then the musical artform of grime may not suffer immensely.
PS. PS3 grime fans, do not add “ghetts” on the PSN thinking its Ghetto, its me, I’m still getting people adding me with the usual “U kool Ghetto. Whens ur next tune coming out?”. I’ll add you and give you as much info about Ghetto as I can but ultimately its not him.
