Check My Footwork
I haven't been on my usual binge sneaker posting habits as of late. This new NikeID commercial is prime reason to kick back in the mix for a number of reasons.
- That shoe orgy in the middle of the court.
- DJ AM is killing in those Air Yeezys. Those alone make the commercial worth watching.
- Those Kobes actually look....dope. I haven't been moved by a pair of newer Nike basketball shoes in ages, for the simple fact they're too basketball-y. I know you're probably thinking, 'What the fuck is he talking about? 'Basketbally' isn't even a word.'
Let me explain, Nikes in the 90's were multifunctional. You could do damage with them on the court, or throw your favorite pair of jeans on with them and just go. Now all the shoes revolve around technology so much that it's damn near impossible to try and style. So yeah, those Kobes look pretty decent, though I'd have to try them on with a pair of unwashed denim for the final verdict.

We had this discussion the other day. I don't think I got a good look at those Kobe's, but they look like some random Nike 20s. The Hyperdunk was like my fav shoe of his... all others were like, garbaggo. But yea, co-sign on the Basketball-y footwear that's not allowing you to style on someone with your new jays. You will just look plain silly. :)
